RF Systems Engineer Sr.

Location: Santa Clara, CA; travel required up to 20% of the time; relocation eligible.

Salary: $163,000–$224,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design, specification, integration, and qualification of RF subsystems, including generators, matching networks, filters, diagnostics, ICP sources, and RF transmission systems.
• Define system requirements, performance specifications, schematics, test plans, and engineering documentation for new products and technology platforms.
• Optimize plasma ignition, RF coupling efficiency, process uniformity, chamber-to-chamber matching, and wafer-to-wafer repeatability.
• Integrate RF systems into semiconductor processing equipment and troubleshoot complex RF, electrical, and plasma-related issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, process, manufacturing, and ECAT communication disciplines, as well as suppliers and customers.
• Evaluate emerging RF technologies, lead proof-of-concept investigations, present technical recommendations, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a PhD with 6+ years of experience in semiconductor or related capital equipment development.
• Deep expertise in RF engineering, plasma processing, and system-level design.
• Experience with analytical tools, circuit simulation, electromagnetic modeling, experimental data analysis, and root-cause methodologies.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical projects, engage suppliers, support customers, and provide technical direction.
