Operations & Learning Specialist

Location: Saint Louis, MO 63146, United States; field-based role with branch visits and typically 30–75% overnight travel.

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on onboarding, training, coaching, and development for Inside Sales Representatives and other operational associates.
• Support adoption and effective use of ERP and operational technology platforms.
• Visit branches to observe workflows, reinforce operational best practices, and recommend process improvements.
• Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions.
• Partner with branch and regional leadership to identify knowledge gaps, track training progress, and improve performance.
• Support change management and operational implementation initiatives in alignment with enterprise learning strategies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Core & Main, ideally in a sales-focused or supporting role.
• Ability to analyze performance data, identify problems, and develop effective solutions independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate associates and hold groups accountable.
• Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel overnight 30–75% of the time and work at branch locations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in learning and development, sales enablement, branch operations, talent development, or training.
• Experience facilitating training and coaching with measurable performance outcomes.
• Knowledge of instructional design, ADDIE, adult learning theory, Mincron, or D365.
