Intern Infrastructure Engineering

Location: Lakeville, Minnesota, United States; hybrid model with up to 50% work from home. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Salary: $20–$21 per hour

What you will do

• Support infrastructure assignments involving cloud and on-premises platforms, storage, compute, networking, monitoring, automation, and technical service management.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, inventories, dependency information, lifecycle records, and operational reports.
• Gather and validate data for lifecycle planning, technical debt identification, platform health assessments, audits, and remediation activities.
• Review alerts, trends, dashboards, and capacity or performance information as part of monitoring and observability activities.
• Support automation, disaster recovery, resiliency, business continuity, incident, problem, and change-management activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineering, security, architecture, application, service management, vendor, and business teams while applying feedback and building technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, management information systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Coursework, projects, or experience related to systems administration, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, automation, databases, or enterprise technology.
• Foundational understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, servers, cloud platforms, or infrastructure services.
• Familiarity with a scripting or automation language such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or a comparable language.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, learning, and follow-through skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to monitoring, logging, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, or IT service-management concepts.
• CPT or Pre-Opt eligibility.
