Senior Technologist, Multi-Domain Joint Operations & Technology Transition

What you will do

• Develop, assess, and manage technology maturation roadmaps for joint mission capabilities, accelerating transitions from science and technology programs into operational baselines at TRL 4–7.
• Advise the Principal Technical Director through technical gap analyses, engineering trade studies, Analysis of Alternatives, and investment prioritization.
• Coordinate technical collaboration across Service Laboratories, Warfare Centers, DARPA, PEOs/PMs, Combatant Commands, and industry partners.
• Provide senior technical authority for mission engineering and cross-cutting architecture integration across JADC2, resilient communications, autonomy, cyber/electronic warfare, and multi-domain sensing.
• Author and coordinate Technology Transition Agreements, modernization roadmaps, rapid fielding strategies, policy directives, executive briefings, white papers, and congressional and interagency deliverables.
• Lead technical exchange meetings, joint experimentation reviews, and cross-functional working groups.

Requirements

• Master of Science or Master of Engineering in an accredited STEM discipline with at least 20 years of progressively responsible technical and engineering experience, or a Ph.D. with at least 15 years of experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, technology maturation, technical oversight, mission engineering, system-of-systems integration, and quantitative trade-off analysis.
• Experience managing complex technology portfolios and transitioning advanced capabilities into ACAT programs of record or rapid fielding pipelines.
• Knowledge of Department of Defense or Department of War RDT&E processes, PPBE budget lifecycles, and JCIDS touchpoints.
• Exceptional technical writing and briefing skills for SES officials, General and Flag Officers, and executive program leadership.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in engineering, physics, or a related STEM discipline with 20 or more years of technical leadership experience.
• Experience supporting a Principal Technical Director, OSD/OUSW directorate, Service S&T Executive, or Combatant Command J-code staff.
• Expertise conducting Technology Readiness Level and Manufacturing Readiness Level assessments and independent technical reviews.
