Project Scientist I (Environmental Science)

Location: Office-based in Orlando, Florida, with travel primarily within Florida and throughout the Southeast

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement sampling plans for small- and large-scale environmental field investigations.
• Lead field efforts and guide junior staff on data collection, documentation, and safety procedures.
• Analyze environmental data, identify gaps, and recommend changes to investigative approaches.
• Develop conceptual site models and coordinate geophysical surveys, drilling investigations, and remedial measures.
• Prepare reports, tables, maps, drawings, and visual materials for project recommendations and regulatory approvals.
• Conduct ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and coordinate emergency spill responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
• 7+ years of experience conducting environmental investigations and leading field efforts.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and ability to obtain security clearance at federal installations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar tools.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and varying outdoor environments, including uneven terrain and hot or inclement weather.
