Senior Software Engineer (Aerospace/Defense)

What you will do

• Oversee software development activities across multiple software baselines, versions, technical requirements, and delivery schedules.
• Review software and firmware requirements, architectures, designs, technical documentation, and contractor deliverables.
• Support requirements definition, design reviews, formal qualification testing, IV&V, issue resolution, and final software release activities.
• Coordinate software budget planning, execution tracking, technical assessments, and risk mitigation with program stakeholders.
• Evaluate software safety compliance and support system flight-readiness recommendations.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, integration, test, operational, program-office, and contractor teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field, plus 12 years of progressive related experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.
• Experience with software development lifecycle activities, technical documentation, verification, validation, qualification testing, or certification.
• Knowledge of software safety standards, software assurance methodologies, configuration management, and requirements traceability.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical reviews and engineering assessments.

Nice to have

• Experience with missile, aviation, aerospace, or defense systems programs.
• Experience with embedded software or real-time system development environments.
• Experience overseeing contractors in a government program office environment.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
