BSN Instructor (Medical-Surgical Nursing)

What you will do

• Deliver Medical-Surgical BSN education in skills-lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate attendance, skills check-off, and student performance records.
• Coordinate clinical assignments with student and facility needs and submit required program reports.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, curriculum improvement, and ongoing student communication.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered California Board of Registered Nursing license required.
• Must be eligible for California BRN approval as an instructor in Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation in the teaching subject; BSN candidates enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant role.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years, with direct patient care experience.
• Expertise in Medical-Surgical, Mental Health, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, Community Health, or Critical Care nursing.
• One year of nursing-course teaching experience or completion of a nursing-teaching course is preferred.
