Salary: $140,000–$165,000 USD per year, plus equity and other rewards.

What you will do

  • Implement and tune active laser control and stabilization algorithms on embedded targets.
  • Own firmware components for photonic transceiver diagnostics, telemetry, and monitoring from requirements through release.
  • Contribute to control-plane and diagnostics architecture with photonic, analog, digital, systems, and network engineers.
  • Integrate transceiver management and telemetry with CMIS, OpenBMC, and DMTF interfaces.
  • Bring up and debug new hardware using GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and optical test equipment.
  • Build automated test and data-collection tooling, document findings, and support repeatable system characterization.

Requirements

  • BS with 5+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years, PhD, or equivalent practical experience in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering embedded software for a shipped product or production or field-deployed hardware.
  • Proficiency in C or C++ and comfort with Python for tooling, testing, and analysis.
  • Understanding of hardware-software integration, embedded peripherals, and I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO buses.
  • Experience with resource-constrained firmware, Git, and CMake or a comparable build system.
  • Hands-on embedded debugging experience with GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, or oscilloscopes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with bare-metal and RTOS systems, including FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
  • Background in closed-loop control, optical transceivers, photonic systems, or precision analog and mixed-signal hardware.
  • Familiarity with CMIS, OpenBMC, DMTF/Redfish, optical communication systems, laser physics, or stabilization techniques.
  • Experience with optical measurement, hardware-in-the-loop testing, firmware CI, or test automation.
