Associate Embedded Software Engineer (AI)

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States. Onsite Monday through Thursday; Friday work location is flexible.

Salary: $56,800–$80,604.99 annually

What you will do

• Analyze functional requirements and create comprehensive test cases, functional procedures, and automated test scripts.
• Execute formal and exploratory testing for embedded-based software used in commercial HVAC controls.
• Report defects, verify fixes, and maintain accurate test results in the defect tracking system.
• Build and maintain test rooms, hardware, software, simulators, and engineering test facilities.
• Develop and improve automated testing tools, frameworks, technologies, and processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet testing deadlines and support internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent software development or testing experience.
• Experience or coursework in software testing, quality assurance, object-oriented or component-based development, and automated testing.
• Programming experience in Python, C, C++, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of embedded or industrial controls, building control systems, refrigeration cycles, chillers, or embedded controller configuration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel macros, pivot tables, XML files, formulas, and commands, plus Microsoft Project.
• Ability to follow electrical safety measures and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Experience developing software with AI tools.
• Engineering internship experience in embedded controls, software implementation, or structured software testing.
