Senior Data Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Remote - United States. Occasional on-site visits to manufacturing facilities may be required during implementation and go-live support. U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain a DOD clearance are required.

Salary: $163,000–$205,000 base salary annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between MES, ERP, PLM, QMS, LIMS, and other enterprise manufacturing platforms.
• Develop traceability workflows covering production execution, material management, quality processes, lot and serial genealogy, and regulatory documentation.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with lineage, observability, auditability, validation rules, anomaly detection, and SLA monitoring.
• Architect API-based, event-driven, batch, EDI, and flat-file integrations across cloud and on-premises systems.
• Administer data services in Azure Government and AWS GovCloud and maintain CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, IT, quality, compliance, and implementation partners while documenting architectures and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of data engineering or enterprise integration experience, including substantial manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Hands-on experience integrating MES and ERP platforms in production environments and delivering complex integrations through go-live.
• Strong experience with Python, PowerShell, T-SQL or Spark SQL, PySpark, data modeling, Git, and CI/CD.
• Experience with regulated manufacturing requirements, including AS9100, DCMA, ATF, ITAR/EAR, CUI handling, audit trails, and compliance evidence.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR and be able to maintain or obtain a DOD clearance.
• Ability to work remotely in the United States and occasionally visit manufacturing facilities or support after-hours cutovers.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-site technology rollouts and regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Certifications in Azure data engineering or architecture, Terraform, AWS data analytics, Apriso, NetSuite, or Security+.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA, OPC-UA, historian databases, barcode, RFID, or vision-system integrations.
