TL;DR
Senior Actuarial Analyst - Loss Reserving (Property & Casualty): Evaluating property and casualty loss and expense reserves for assigned product lines, coverages, and companies with an accent on traditional and innovative reserving methods, statistical analysis, and actuarial research. Focus on solving multi-faceted business problems, analyzing actuarial issues, and collaborating with Claims, Pricing, and Financial Reporting teams.

Location: Bloomington, Illinois, United States; hybrid arrangement with two office days per week

Salary: $110,000–$175,000 per year, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary

What you will do

  • Complete Property & Casualty loss and expense evaluations for assigned product lines, coverages, and companies.
  • Apply traditional and innovative loss reserving techniques and methods.
  • Research actuarial questions, identify solutions, and analyze business problems.
  • Prepare responses to actuarial issues and serve as a resource for other areas of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Claims, Pricing, and Financial Reporting partners on multi-faceted business problems.

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience in an actuarial role, preferably with Property & Casualty loss reserving responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or another analytical field.
  • Experience with data and statistical analysis using Excel, SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • Successful completion of at least three Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society exams.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Must be eligible to lawfully work in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available for current or future U.S. work authorization.

Nice to have

  • ACAS or FCAS designation.
  • Intention to earn or maintain continuing education requirements for the ACAS or FCAS designation.
