Senior Software Engineer (Bet Engine)

What you will do

• Design, scale, and performance-tune GraphQL APIs, low-latency gRPC services, and SQL queries for sportsbook, casino, ledger, regulatory, promotional, and risk-management systems.
• Architect and deliver features end-to-end in a collaborative agile environment.
• Identify production bottlenecks, performance regressions, and operational risks, then drive scalability and reliability improvements.
• Configure monitoring and alerting in Datadog for owned systems.
• Bridge internal, third-party, legacy, and modern systems through integrations, data migrations, translation layers, and supporting infrastructure.
• Write technical proposals, collaborate with business stakeholders, and mentor engineers through specifications, pairing, and code review.

Requirements

• Remote work from the United States.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design.
• Experience operating production systems at scale, including load testing, tracing, performance regression remediation, on-call rotations, and end-to-end release ownership.
• Experience with modern web frameworks and APIs, including Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, FastAPI, Laravel, or Node, plus 2+ years designing GraphQL schemas for iOS, Android, and web clients.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience with testing frameworks, background job processing, asynchronous event infrastructure, and financial, legal, or process accounting systems requiring correctness and auditability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir, hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Development, or open-source contributions.
• Experience at startups, passion for sports or esports, and experience building or validating agentic software workflows.
