Senior Configuration Analyst (DevOps)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered

What you will do

• Support Veterans Affairs applications and lead migration initiatives to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain configuration management tools for internally developed and commercial off-the-shelf software.
• Lead configuration management, release engineering, build, and deployment activities across multiple environments.
• Design and automate productivity tools, build procedures, and repeatable deployment processes using programming, database, and scripting technologies.
• Establish company-wide configuration standards and train developers on configuration management and software quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance, investigate complex build and deployment issues, and mentor junior analysts and engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; eight or more years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Proven experience leading complex software builds and releases in large, regulated, or federal environments.
• Deep knowledge of configuration management, release engineering, baselining, change control, status accounting, and source control strategies.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Nexus, and Artifactory.
• Experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, infrastructure as code, environment management, and software quality governance.
• U.S. citizenship is required; must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and pass the applicable government investigation.

Nice to have

• ITIL Foundation, CMII, or an equivalent configuration management certification.
• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange X.12 medical claims, HL7, and FHIR.
