Senior Data Engineer (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, architecture, development, and maintenance of a scalable healthcare data platform.
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using FHIR APIs, HL7, CMS, HIEs, EHRs, payer, and laboratory data sources.
• Optimize data models, storage architecture, and query performance across AWS, Azure, and Snowflake.
• Deliver data solutions that support actionable business and clinical insights.
• Establish data governance, coding standards, documentation, testing, monitoring, and compliance processes.
• Mentor junior data engineers and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, AWS data services, and enterprise data pipelines.
• Strong Apache Airflow experience for workflow orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and pipeline management.
• Advanced SQL, data modeling, Snowflake, Python, and ETL/ELT development skills.
• Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, HIPAA, PHI handling, healthcare data governance, and regulatory requirements.
