Senior Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: United States; primarily remote with occasional travel requirements

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate architecture and software for capturing, managing, storing, and using structured and unstructured data.
• Develop data pipelines, ELT processes, data transformations, models, taxonomies, storage strategies, and external data interfaces.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and review or debug code written by others.
• Build and operate multi-tenant SaaS systems with strong isolation, security, reliability, availability, and performance.
• Gather technical requirements and partner with Implementation, Product Management, Architects, engineers, BI Developers, and Quality Engineers.
• Monitor live operations and KPIs while designing features that address customer and business requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in data architecture, business intelligence systems, ELT development, data transformation, data modeling, reporting, and BI dashboards.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Java, with relational database design, scalability, and SQL experience.
• Knowledge of ETL, data structures, metadata, workflow management, and complex data and technology problem-solving.
• B.S. in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Agile development, enterprise software releases, SaaS products, JIRA, and fast-paced cross-functional environments.

• Experience working with AWS.
• Healthcare industry experience.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC, or HITRUST requirements.
