Junior DevOps / ELK Engineer (Observability)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working model with CET alignment. Must be based in Lisbon and hold a valid work permit or EU/Schengen nationality to work legally in Portugal.

Salary: €1,600–€1,900 gross monthly, including fixed and variable components, meal allowance, remote work, and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain, support, and extend Elastic Stack components, including Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
• Execute runbooks for platform health monitoring, routine maintenance, and alert checks across production and non-production environments.
• Support application onboarding and configure basic monitoring, dashboards, log collection, and alerting.
• Assist with routine releases and incident handling under senior team guidance.
• Follow coding standards, governance, and CI/CD practices while documenting operational activities and ticket resolutions.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders in a distributed environment.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field, or equivalent initial experience.
• 0–2 years of hands-on experience or familiarity with IT environments, logging, and monitoring concepts.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux and/or Windows, file systems, CPU, memory, and storage metrics.
• Professional English at C1 level, spoken and written, is mandatory.
• Understanding of observability concepts, including logs, metrics, traces, and golden signals.
• Availability for on-call support and scheduled overtime; legal authorization to work in Portugal is required.

Nice to have

• French or Dutch.
• Agile delivery and ITIL/incident management knowledge.
• Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, OpenTelemetry, and IT security fundamentals.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or MS Office.
