Senior DevOps / ELK Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working model with CET alignment. Candidates must be based in Lisbon and hold a valid Portuguese work permit or EU/Schengen nationality.

Salary: €2,300–€2,700 gross monthly, including fixed and variable compensation, meal allowance, remote-work allowance, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, support, and extend the Elastic Stack, including Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
• Design observability solutions for applications running on mainframe, open systems, and container platforms.
• Optimize platform performance, indexing efficiency, log retention, data lifecycle management, and secure access controls.
• Integrate observability with development, architecture, operations, and CI/CD practices while establishing monitoring governance.
• Lead production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, P1/P2 incident handling, and release execution.
• Coach team members, collaborate with stakeholders, estimate feature effort, and contribute to value-driven roadmaps.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in IT environments focused on observability and production support.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Elastic Stack, OpenTelemetry, logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerting, and log analysis.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms including Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, UCD, Ansible, and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows fundamentals, Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, authentication, RBAC, access management, and audit compliance.
• Professional English at C1 level is mandatory. Candidates must be based in Lisbon and have the legal right to work in Portugal.

Nice to have

• Mainframe knowledge, Elasticsearch certification, and Microsoft Azure experience.
• French or Dutch language skills.
• Experience in regulated environments such as financial services.
