TL;DR
Chassis Structure Suspension and Driveline VDDV (CAE) Engineer (Automotive/CAE): Leading structural analysis and virtual validation of chassis structure, suspension, and driveline systems for body-on-frame and rear-wheel-drive programs with an accent on finite element analysis, fatigue, durability, and system-level performance. Focus on connecting component-level physics to full-vehicle behavior, developing block cycle tests, resolving root causes, and delivering optimized designs through cross-functional CAE collaboration.

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid attendance required at least 3 times per week

Company

hirify.global develops vehicles and mobility technologies focused on safety, connectivity, electrification, and intelligent software.

What you will do

  • Lead structural analysis and virtual validation for chassis structure, suspension, and driveline systems supporting body-on-frame and rear-wheel-drive programs.
  • Perform finite element analysis for strength, static and dynamic stiffness, durability, fatigue, noise, and vibration.
  • Develop fatigue assessments and block cycle test profiles for chassis and suspension components.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on new components and systems, specify system-level requirements, and provide recommendations during virtual design reviews.
  • Support component and subsystem test development, issue root-cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Lead supplier-coordinated CAE projects, participate in product development and performance integration teams, and document analysis models and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in CAE engineering roles, including at least 3 years with linear and nonlinear analysis.
  • Expertise with NASTRAN, OptiStruct, and Abaqus.
  • Proficiency with HyperWorks and/or ANSA, plus familiarity with CAE and CAD integration.
  • Expertise in structural fatigue theory, tools, and methods; DesignLife or nCode experience is preferred.
  • GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship, and the role is not eligible for relocation benefits.

Nice to have

  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to structural design.
  • Chassis or driveline structure analysis experience.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with component and subsystem testing, structural optimization, morphing tools, Weibull analysis, or statistical durability evaluation.
  • DFSS Black Belt certification and familiarity with Windows or UNIX systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement with regular on-site collaboration.
  • Employee benefits focused on well-being at work and at home.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to belonging and equal employment opportunity.
