Corporate Counsel, U.S. Federal, Defense and National Security Compliance (SaaS)

Location: New York, New York or Washington, DC; hybrid team environment

Salary: $180,000–$248,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Provide end-to-end legal support for public sector regulated products and services.
• Advise on U.S. government regulatory frameworks, including FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, FAR, and DFARS.
• Act as a subject matter expert on emerging cloud service policies and changing regulations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Security, Sales, and legal teams from product conception through launch.
• Guide compliance frameworks and authorization processes for regulated cloud offerings.
• Design pragmatic, scalable legal solutions that balance business objectives with risk mitigation.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of legal practice, including at least 2+ years advising cloud or SaaS providers on U.S. federal government compliance.
• Direct experience with FAR, DFARS, and FedRAMP authorizations.
• Experience supporting IT products and SaaS business models, with knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local technology regulations.
• J.D. from a highly regarded institution and active Bar admission.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance are required.
• Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced hybrid environment.

Nice to have

• Military Judge Advocate or U.S. Federal civilian service attorney advisor experience.
• Experience delivering classified products or achieving FedRAMP High and DoD IL5/6 authorizations.
• Undergraduate degree in a technical field.
• Hands-on experience with AI platforms and tools for legal workflows.
