Product Owner (Advanced Analytics)

Location: Hybrid in Rochester, New York, United States; occasional in-person participation is required, with more frequent office work possible within approximately 35 miles of Rochester.

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate company vision and strategy into actionable product plans with the Product Director.
• Work with school districts and customers to identify needs and define epics, requirements, acceptance criteria, features, and user stories.
• Partner with Engineering and User Experience teams as the customer advocate throughout development.
• Validate product impact, facilitate user acceptance testing, assess feedback, and adjust priorities.
• Coordinate release readiness with documentation, training, support, and marketing teams.
• Represent SchoolTool at user groups and conferences while improving team processes, tooling, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner owning data platform strategy and analytics products.
• Experience with data structures, reporting, dashboards, self-service tools, alerts, exports, and advanced analytics features.
• 4+ years of experience in PK-12 education and familiarity with PK-12 data domains, preferably including Ed-Fi.
• Ability to define data quality, timeliness, accuracy, adoption, and business-impact requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, customer discovery, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• CSPO certification or equivalent experience.
