Engineering Team Leader (Engine Validation)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Up to 25% travel may be required to proving grounds, third-party laboratories, and field test locations. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do

• Lead structural validation activities for core engine components, including valvetrain, rotating components, cylinder packs, cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and critical fasteners.
• Develop, manage, and execute validation plans from requirements definition through testing and final reporting.
• Coordinate validation demand, PMO priorities, laboratory capacity, hardware availability, and global resources.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, product, and supplier teams on NSI, NPI, NTI, NTI-S, and CPI projects.
• Coordinate readiness of engine hardware, fixtures, instrumentation, and tooling for testing.
• Execute structural and dynamics testing, analyze results, identify risks and root causes, and recommend design improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of engine core components and engine laboratory operations.
• Experience with structural durability, fatigue analysis, modal analysis, bolted joint analysis, torsional vibration testing, and engine dynamics validation.
• Proficiency with strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure sensors, speed and position sensors, telemetry, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to analyze complex test data, assess durability margins, document validation plans, and communicate technical recommendations.
• Must work onsite in Mossville, Illinois, five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.
