General Transportation Manager - Full Grocery, Dairy (Transportation) (Logistics)

Location: Onsite at 285 Frank Martin Rd, Shelbyville, Tennessee, United States

Salary: $144,000–$216,000 annually, plus annual or quarterly performance bonuses and possible stock or regional pay zone compensation.

What you will do

• Lead transportation operations and execute strategic plans for safety, service, productivity, maintenance, and operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring operational metrics, optimizing resources, and improving transportation performance.
• Ensure compliance with company, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Manage facility budgets, expenses, asset utilization, operational costs, and financial performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop facility leaders and associates, including hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and performance management.
• Resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns while collaborating with cross-functional partners and representing Walmart in the local community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as management, logistics, business administration, finance, or operations management.
• At least 3 years of experience in a senior management role in an operations, distribution, or logistics environment, including supervising and developing managers or supervisors.
• Alternative qualifications include 1 year as a Walmart Logistics Assistant General Manager, 3 years as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager, or 5 years in a senior operations, distribution, or logistics management role.
• Experience managing workloads and participating in facility-wide hiring and promotion decisions.
• Ability to uphold safety, quality, regulatory compliance, ethics, and operational standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with compliance, financial modeling and analysis, workforce issues, modeling and forecasting, budgeting, or P&L accountability.
• Additional academic background in business, finance, logistics, management, or operations management.
