Certification and Airworthiness Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: Remote, US-only; travel to headquarters may be required as needed.

Salary: $85,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Author and maintain UAS flight and maintenance manuals.
• Ensure fleet hardware and software remain aligned with regulatory filings.
• Drive domestic FAA and foreign aviation certification and airworthiness efforts.
• Secure COAs, Experimental Airworthiness Certification Packages, and N-number registrations.
• Manage aircraft conformity activities and civil aviation authority site audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; engineering or aerospace education is advantageous.
• Familiarity with UAS exemptions and aircraft regulatory processes, including Part 21 and Part 23.
• Ability to evaluate hardware, software, and technical specifications against legal frameworks and determine licensing requirements.
• Experience drafting, submitting, and tracking applications, permits, and official filings through regulatory portals and databases.
• Strong collaboration, time-management, prioritization, and independent compliance-strategy skills.
• Must be based in the United States; export-control authorization may be required to access company technology and information.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience in the civil aviation industry.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, WebManuals, or other technical-writing software.
• Experience with Confluence, Slack, and Google Suite.
• Experience in both large-company and startup environments.
