TL;DR

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; onsite at the Sinclair Interplanetary site

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 CAD base pay per year

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, test, and maintain star tracker products.
  • Develop, integrate, and commission production and research test setups.
  • Collect and analyze data to quantify part-level and unit-level performance.
  • Support quality investigations, including root-cause analysis and disposition of non-conformances.
  • Support production assembly, integration, and testing of star tracker products.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in collaboration with the business development team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience designing, developing, or testing optical systems.
  • Ability to work in production areas with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, plus occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes.

Nice to have

  • Two or more years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field, and in optical system design, development, or testing.
  • Master’s degree in physics or aerospace engineering.
  • Experience with optical design, Zemax OpticStudio, optomechanical components, lens manufacturing, or stray light analysis.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft system design and the space environment.
  • Experience with Python or Matlab data analysis, Git or SVN, and embedded microcontroller development in C.
