Network Engineer III (Transport)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote eligible with restrictions. Occasional travel between retail stores, offices, worksites, or other locations may be required.

What you will do

• Design, plan, implement, and support complex transport and access network infrastructure.
• Maintain high availability, redundancy, scalability, security, and performance across network systems.
• Monitor networks, troubleshoot outages, manage escalations, and coordinate resolution with engineering and project teams.
• Define operational KPIs, maintain technical documentation and network diagrams, and provide project status reports.
• Collaborate with architects, software developers, systems engineers, product managers, customers, vendors, and management on future architecture and capacity planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and provide technical direction on complex projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field; relevant experience or education may substitute year for year.
• At least six years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, network design and implementation, complex project management, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, scalability, and telecommunications engineering standards.
• Ability to make independent engineering decisions, manage complex projects, communicate technical concepts, and provide technical direction.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including additional weekends, holidays, or after-hours emergency support when needed.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Telecommunications or role-specific certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIA, Nokia NRS, PCNSA, PCNSE, or SCTE certifications.
