Project Manager: CMMC Audit (Cybersecurity)

Location: United States; remote workplace with a hybrid model requiring 2–3 days in the office

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of CMMC audit deliverables and coordinate responses to audit follow-up questions.
• Build and maintain plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, and delivery timelines for CMMC assessments.
• Coordinate cybersecurity consultants, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to complete SSPs, POA&Ms, artifacts, and control mappings.
• Manage project scope, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, and delivery blockers.
• Act as the primary customer-facing project contact and translate CMMC requirements into clear status and risk updates.
• Lead project closeout, lessons learned, documentation, and transition activities.

Requirements

• Degree in cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience is acceptable.
• 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in cybersecurity, IT, consulting, or professional services.
• Working knowledge of the CMMC framework, maturity levels, control domains, assessment objectives, and audit processes.
• Experience supporting or coordinating a CMMC assessment, audit, or readiness effort is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing complex customer-facing technology projects, concurrent priorities, cross-functional teams, scope, schedules, resources, risks, and dependencies.
• Strong customer communication, presentation, organization, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• CMMC-related certification such as CMMC Registered Practitioner, Certified CMMC Professional, or Certified CMMC Assessor.
• Experience with an MSSP, MDR/XDR provider, cybersecurity consulting firm, or security technology company.
