Agentic AI Developer

Location: Remote within the United States; San Antonio, Texas, or Austin, Texas. Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.

Salary: $99,000–$225,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Build, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain AI agents and supporting applications using the Agent Foundry platform and AWS.
• Connect agents to enterprise data and tools through retrieval, tool calling, and workflow orchestration.
• Integrate machine learning capabilities and evaluate application performance, reliability, and user feedback.
• Translate defense mission needs into secure, tested software supporting readiness assessments, capability analysis, knowledge discovery, workflow automation, computer vision, or geospatial analysis.
• Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, troubleshooting, and feature delivery with AI/ML, data, cloud, platform, architecture, and domain teams.
• Implement traceable outputs, appropriate security controls, and human oversight for mission-focused agents.

Requirements

• 2+ years of production-grade Python software development, including back-end applications, APIs, or data services.
• 2+ years developing, integrating, or deploying AI/ML-enabled applications using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic workflows.
• Experience with Git-based development, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and AI/ML application evaluation.
• Knowledge of LLM and agent patterns, including tool or function calling, context management, retrieval, workflow orchestration, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Knowledge of AWS fundamentals and secure development practices, including IAM, compute, storage, networking, managed AI/ML services, least-privilege access, secrets management, and input/output validation.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with 2+ years; ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Nice to have

• AWS AI/ML, DevOps, MLOps, data pipeline, containerization, Infrastructure-as-Code, or observability experience.
• Experience with Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, ECS, EKS, Strands Agents, LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, Temporal, vector databases, or knowledge graphs.
• Experience with computer vision, multimodal, geospatial, LiDAR, photogrammetry, or point-cloud solutions.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud or regulated and classified environments, including RMF, STIG-aligned development, vulnerability remediation, or authorization-to-operate evidence.
• AWS or CompTIA Security+ certification and an existing Secret clearance.
