TL;DR
Software Engineer, Backend (Distributed Systems/AI): Develop and maintain high-throughput backend services and APIs for real-time fulfilment systems serving hundreds of millions of requests per day with an accent on reliability, scalability, database performance, and cloud deployment. Focus on building distributed services in Golang and Scala, optimizing MySQL and Presto queries, implementing CI/CD and automated testing, and solving system bottlenecks.
Location: Onsite in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

What you will do
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable backend services and APIs.
- Write efficient MySQL and Presto queries and optimize performance through profiling and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to cloud-based projects on AWS, GCP, or Azure and support CI/CD deployments.
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Build services with Golang and Scala and gain exposure to Apache Flink and distributed computing.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of backend development experience.
- Familiarity with large-scale distributed web or API services, system internals, and networking.
- Hands-on experience with databases and query languages such as MySQL or Presto.
- Understanding of system performance, profiling, and bottleneck resolution.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; testing frameworks; and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with any programming language and willingness to work with Golang and Scala.
