Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

Location: Hybrid, with at least 2 days a week in the office; hirify.global HQ in London

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Scala, Spark, and PySpark in Azure.
• Develop reusable data engineering templates, frameworks, and tooling for product data teams.
• Drive standardisation across data ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
• Enable production-ready datasets through technical guidance, reusable patterns, and hands-on support.
• Implement CI/CD, data quality validation, testing, observability, and metadata management.
• Partner with Data Science, Platform Engineering, ML Engineering, and Security teams to improve data infrastructure performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong experience building scalable data platforms as a Data Engineer.
• Deep expertise in Azure, including Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Databricks.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala with PySpark or Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Delta Lake, plus understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle.
• Experience with dbt, Terraform, CI/CD, data modelling, quality, testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimisation.
• Focus on automation, standardisation, and improving developer experience.
