Senior Software Engineer (Location AI)

What you will do

• Own technical design and delivery of multi-component AI systems across teams.
• Define product behavior, build measurement and evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic systems.
• Run continuous evaluation and improve APIs, SDKs, data representations, and reference applications.
• Build and maintain data pipelines including ingestion, conflation, entity resolution, and quality checks.
• Integrate external datasets, models, and benchmarks; design feedback loops to improve products.
• Develop internal tools and model harnesses to support rapid iteration and team collaboration.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5+ years software engineering experience with production ownership.
• 2+ years shipping LLM-backed features with error budgets and on-call rotations.
• Experience designing evaluations for non-deterministic systems and building datasets for failure detection.
• Data engineering skills: SQL, distributed processing frameworks, and pipeline management.
• Fluency with tool calling, agent orchestration, and handling failure modes.
• Strong Python or TypeScript skills and ability to read multiple languages.
• Experience diagnosing latency in distributed systems and working under ambiguity.
• Clear written communication for distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Geospatial data experience including routing, geocoding, POI, OpenStreetMap, or data conflation.
• Public API or SDK design experience.
• Experience with MCP or similar tool transports and running evals in CI.
• Automotive or in-vehicle infotainment experience.
• Voice pipeline experience and working under constrained compute or intermittent connectivity.
