Registered Nurse (Occupational Health)

Location: Windsor Locks, Connecticut, United States; onsite at a health center

Salary: $38.40–$48.00 per hour

What you will do

• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within the scope of practice.
• Provide care for injured workers and coordinate case management, return-to-work, and transitional duty programs.
• Perform and document medical tests, screenings, physical evaluations, and treatments, including EKG, audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
• Administer medications and emergency care, maintain medical equipment, and follow infection control procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and educate patients on health promotion and follow-up care.
• Collaborate on health programs, injury prevention, accident investigations, and workplace safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited nursing school or an Associate degree in Nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required.
• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience in occupational health, emergency, or ambulatory care.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required; ACLS may be required based on the contract scope.
• Experience with workplace hazard mitigation, health screenings and education, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and return-to-work examinations.

Nice to have

• Certification in Occupational Health, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
