Big Data Analyst

Location: On-site in Herndon, Virginia, with work at the customer site in Springfield, Virginia as needed

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop dataset evaluations and assessments to support government decision-making.
• Shape data engineering approaches that improve analytic tradecraft in applications backed by a self-managed cloud infrastructure and more than 20 petabytes of data.
• Identify and document gaps in data collections and analytical capabilities.
• Collaborate with software developers to refine requirements, provide feedback, and validate application changes.
• Support end users with subject-matter expertise for data and application questions.

Requirements

• Current and active TS/SCI clearance and willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least five years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, or in a similar role.
• Experience creating repeatable data evaluation processes and communicating findings to government officials.
• In-depth knowledge of technical telemetry and telecommunications protocol data, including cellular and Wi-Fi data.
• Experience with a scripting or data-processing language such as Python, SQL, Spark, or PySpark, plus strong communication and independent task-management skills.

Nice to have

• Geospatial analysis experience, including Activity-Based Intelligence or Pattern of Life analysis.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, GitLab, Jupyter Notebooks, or Apache Zeppelin.
• Experience developing and documenting analytic methodologies.
• Customer-facing experience or work with intelligence analysts and special operations customers.
