Manager, Engineering (Data Platform)

Location: New York City office; attendance required three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Salary: $310,000–$385,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead and manage the Data Platform Engineering team.
• Own the design, implementation, and operational excellence of systems processing complex healthcare data.
• Build scalable data abstractions, pipelines, and frameworks for growing enterprise data volumes.
• Provide hands-on technical contributions, architecture guidance, data modeling standards, and design reviews.
• Promote AI-native engineering practices and automate development and data operations with AI tools.
• Partner with Engineering and Product, align priorities with OKRs, and mentor engineers through coaching and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience focused on big data, distributed systems, and infrastructure.
• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams and building high-performing teams.
• Expertise with batch processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and EMR.
• Experience with stream processing systems such as Kafka and RedPanda.
• Proficiency with Temporal, Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, dbt, and Soda, plus experience with Python, Snowflake, Airflow, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, or related platform technologies.
• Willingness to work from the New York City office three days per week; healthcare data standards such as HIPAA and EDI are preferred.
