Applied AI Engineer

Location: Remote in the USA, Canada, Europe, or Australia

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD per year or $110,000–$130,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Build and ship full-stack AI-powered applications, internal tools, client-facing prototypes, and integration accelerators on 2-to-4-week sprint cycles.
• Translate PoC blueprints into production applications with polished interfaces, real users, measurable outcomes, and clean handoffs.
• Use Power Agents, the Agent Skills Registry, agent workflows, vector database integrations, and intelligence-layer capabilities.
• Build evaluation harnesses, observability instrumentation, traces, cost budgets, and criteria for assessing AI behavior in production.
• Integrate applications with Snowflake, internal APIs, and the API Gateway while embedding AppSec, data governance, PII handling, and OEM data requirements.
• Scope technical requests, estimate delivery effort, conduct user testing, document architecture decisions, and deploy applications to their target environments.

Requirements

• Portfolio of shipped production AI applications used by real users, including experience diagnosing and fixing production failures.
• Full-stack engineering depth with React or comparable frontend experience, REST and/or GraphQL, authentication patterns, and cloud-native service architecture.
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks or LLM APIs such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Anthropic, OpenAI, or equivalent.
• Experience with RAG patterns, streaming responses, and interfaces that make AI behavior understandable to users.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where employment is offered.

Nice to have

• Experience designing evaluation harnesses and LLM observability with tools such as Langfuse, LangSmith, or Braintrust.
• Experience with multi-model routing and inference cost optimization using LiteLLM, Portkey, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, PII handling, secrets management, prompt injection defense, or API audit logging.
• Strong product intuition, technical writing, postmortem ownership, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with hirify.global’s internal platforms, data infrastructure, or product ecosystem.
