Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Golang)

Location: Hybrid role based at GSIQ in Solihull, UK, with attendance required at least 3 days per week

What you will do

• Lead technical implementations and deliver high-quality projects on schedule.
• Design, build, and maintain Golang APIs, services, integrations, and event-driven solutions.
• Build scalable software using AWS Serverless technologies including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines while following Agile development practices.
• Maintain services, improve observability and monitoring, and respond to incidents during peak sales periods.
• Mentor engineers and improve engineering standards, testing practices, and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience writing production software in Golang or another strongly typed language.
• Experience with cloud-based serverless services such as AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Run, or Azure Functions.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, scalable APIs, and relational and non-relational databases.
• Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture, Git, and branching strategies.
• Experience applying unit testing, contract testing, and other software quality practices.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to solve problems creatively while understanding cost and value drivers.
