Senior Software Engineer (GoLang) (Insurtech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with 2 days per week in the Tower Bridge office and 1 day per month at the Fleet office

What you will do

• Evolve, enhance, and modernise large-scale insurance systems.
• Develop, deliver, maintain, and support public-facing and internal platforms.
• Drive adoption of Go and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Build deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure-scaling automation, including CI/CD tools and processes.
• Apply observability, analytics, security, and platform reliability practices to guide engineering and business decisions.
• Collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers on coding standards, best practices, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing applications with Go.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda and DynamoDB, with comfort working in Azure and Azure DevOps environments.
• Experience with containerisation and infrastructure as code.
• Good understanding of development methodologies and design patterns.
• Experience with Cloudflare and platform or reliability engineering approaches.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform or SST.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET, or .NET Core.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Astro, or Node.
