Nanoparticle Research Associate Co-Op (CMP)

What you will do

• Prepare and characterize nanoparticles for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) applications.
• Perform surface modification experiments using silane chemistry to optimize nanoparticle performance.
• Characterize nanoparticle surfaces using electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis.
• Analyze experimental results, prepare technical reports, and present findings to the research team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to execute project objectives and contribute technical insights during laboratory meetings.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.
• Coursework in organic and inorganic chemistry, including laboratory courses.
• Proficiency in chemical laboratory techniques and safe handling of chemicals and materials.
• Strong data analysis, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from January through June.

Nice to have

• Rising third-year bachelor's student or second-year master's student.
• Familiarity with university requirements for participation in a co-op program.
