Buyer II (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Travel to supplier sites up to 20% and occasional evening or weekend work may be required for critical mission milestones.

Salary: $88,810–$152,940 USD per year.

What you will do

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities and categories, from demand identification through fulfillment.
• Manage the supplier base against business KPIs and drive supplier improvement initiatives.
• Lead source selection, RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiations, contracting strategies, and purchase order placement.
• Review contracts and terms and conditions and develop defensible should-cost models.
• Collaborate with Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, Operations, Program Management, Engineering, and Quality to manage supplier performance.
• Communicate commodity strategies, risks, and business priorities related to schedule, cost, and delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience supporting supplier selection, RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiations, and purchase order placement.
• Experience or exposure to manufacturing and aerospace supply chains is strongly preferred.
• Ability to make independent judgments with limited information, balance multiple priorities, and work effectively in a high-stress environment.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace, spaceflight, or highly regulated manufacturing environments involving complex systems.
