Software Engineer - C++

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; hybrid work schedule

Annual base salary: $135,800–$183,800, with potential discretionary bonus and stock awards depending on role eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and implement features for horizontally scalable, high-performance resolution products.
• Develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions in an Agile environment.
• Write systems software using C, C++, Rust, and Python or similar scripting languages.
• Support software integration, vulnerability management, automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Maintain development environments and troubleshoot software, system, and network issues.
• Take ownership of features from design through delivery and contribute to technical leadership, documentation, release management, and code reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong systems programming skills in C, C++, or Rust, with a focus on networking and routing protocols.
• Strong knowledge of DNS, networking protocols, server administration, Linux, and distributed systems.
• Experience with automated or behavior-driven testing, such as Python Behave or Cucumber.
• Experience or willingness to learn Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, OpenStack, Jenkins, Groovy, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes.
