Senior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: New York City, USA; hybrid schedule with at least four days per week in the office

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Go-based services for VOD, live events, linear channels, dynamic ad insertion, and manifest manipulation.
• Build reliable, testable streaming workflows serving millions of viewers across multiple regions and brands.
• Architect highly available, resilient, fault-tolerant systems in partnership with Site Reliability Engineering.
• Use metrics, logs, traces, and performance analytics to detect issues and perform data-driven root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to multi-CDN strategies, routing logic, content origins, and global streaming performance.
• Influence technical direction, architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least three years of professional software engineering experience with Go or Python.
• Experience with cloud environments, containers, and orchestration tools such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git-based repositories, automated testing, and build pipelines.
• Practical SRE experience with reliability targets, auto-scaling, distributed systems, or incident response.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with CDNs such as Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly, or Cloudflare.
• Knowledge of HLS, DASH, manifests, content origins, and content routing.
• Experience with global-scale systems, multi-region deployments, or high-availability architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
