Sr. Data Modeler

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $109,500–$150,600 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design and implement Medallion Architecture, dimensional models, Star and Snowflake schemas, and metadata-driven models for enterprise data warehouses.
• Develop canonical and semantic data models with slowly changing dimension handling aligned to business and analytics requirements.
• Build and optimize SQL workloads in Snowflake and develop scalable data warehouses and data lakes on AWS S3.
• Design ingestion and streaming pipelines from relational databases, file shares, web services, Kinesis, and Kafka.
• Use AWS Glue, EMR, Athena, Spark, Python, and Informatica for data engineering and analytics.
• Participate in requirements definition, data and system architecture, and the full software development lifecycle within Agile teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise information solution architecture, design, development, and integration architectures.
• 5+ years of experience with data modeling tools such as sqlDBM, ERWIN, or Lucid.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS data and analytics services, including S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Glue, and EMR.
• At least 5 years of experience in data ingestion, extraction, and integration, plus experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, JavaScript, Java, JSON or XML data modeling, Git/GitHub, and database performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, statistics, or a related field. This position is not sponsorship eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Experience championing responsible AI-assisted development practices and coaching engineers in their use.
• Experience with SAS, R, advanced statistical software, content or knowledge management systems, search engines, geospatial systems, or semantic technology.
