Commodity Manager Castings & Machining

Location: Golden Valley, Minnesota, United States; this is a full-time position working at this location. Up to 45% domestic travel is required, with potential international travel as needed.

Salary: $82,300–$152,800 annualized base pay per year, with potential eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead supplier strategy and sourcing initiatives for castings, machining components, and finished goods.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance reviews, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation.
• Lead RFQs, supplier selection, sourcing recommendations, negotiations, contract development, and implementation.
• Develop category strategies covering productivity, inflation mitigation, supply continuity, localization, dual sourcing, value engineering, and supplier consolidation.
• Build productivity pipelines, validate savings with Finance, and resolve supplier and material issues affecting production.
• Support new product development, evaluate suppliers and technologies, and manage sourcing from concept through production launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance, operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience managing domestic and international suppliers; 7 or more years preferred.
• Experience sourcing castings, machined components, pump cast parts, forgings, or related commodities is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with RFQs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract development, and sourcing implementation.
• Strong financial, analytical, communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, manufacturing experience, and working knowledge of ERP systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP, QAD, or JDE.
• Seven or more years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
