IP/Patent Analyst (Semiconductors)

What you will do

• Develop patent creation strategies with IP Counsel and IP Managers for assigned Business Groups.
• Conduct patent searches, analyses, IP landscape studies, and competitor portfolio monitoring.
• Perform Freedom-to-Operate assessments and identify patent risks, white spaces, business opportunities, and potential partners.
• Support R&D development projects with design-around guidance and recommendations for invention creation.
• Support patent application drafting, office-action responses, and reviews of external patent attorney correspondence.
• Prepare IP reports and communicate complex findings to R&D, legal, technical, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience searching and analyzing complex patent landscapes.
• Strong knowledge of patent analytics platforms, including PatSnap, Orbit, PatentSight, Espacenet, and national patent registers.
• Experience with semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with IP management systems such as IPfolio is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Patent or IP education, including patent attorney training.
• Experience with IPfolio or brand protection platforms such as LexisNexis.
• Experience working as a qualified patent attorney and expanding into IP strategy and analytics.
