Location: San Diego, United States. Hybrid work is available up to two remote days per week, or the role may be performed on-site five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.

Salary: $113,400–$170,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

  • Lead and support day-to-day operations of the San Diego vivarium, including contract personnel and activities at the contracted Seattle site.
  • Coordinate global animal procurement with research teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Support IACUC management, protocol documentation, inspections, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support for in vivo studies and troubleshoot operational issues affecting research.
  • Coordinate user onboarding and technical training for vivarium procedures, animal handling, and compliant study conduct.
  • Develop SOPs, policies, guidance, training materials, and process improvements across local and global vivarium functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, veterinary technology, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting vivarium operations, laboratory animal research, or in vivo study execution.
  • Experience with IACUC processes, animal welfare regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing SOPs, policies, training materials, and procedural documentation.
  • Strong organizational, project management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide hands-on technical support and work across scientific, operational, compliance, and global teams.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or operational discipline.
  • Experience training technical users, supporting onboarding, and coordinating cross-functional projects with global stakeholders.
  • AALAS LATg, ILAM, and/or CPIA certification.
