Focus on prioritizing a large polyglot portfolio, guiding compatibility and versioning decisions, and driving release quality, observability, and incident response.

Location: Remote - US

Salary: $204,500–$330,700 annual base pay depending on US geographic zone, plus RSUs and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a senior engineering team responsible for 35+ open-source SDKs and the Relay Proxy.
  • Own portfolio prioritization across feature work, maintenance, security, and customer escalations.
  • Partner with Product Management on SDK and Relay Proxy roadmaps, version support, and deprecation policies.
  • Guide technical tradeoffs across languages and platforms to maintain idiomatic, performant, and resilient software.
  • Represent SDK Engineering with customers, Support, Solutions, Sales, and engineering leadership.
  • Drive release quality, observability, incident response, team collaboration, and hiring.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of formal engineering management experience, including management of senior engineers.
  • Experience leading teams building developer-facing software such as SDKs, client libraries, public APIs, or open-source projects.
  • Working familiarity with multiple programming languages and ecosystems, with sound judgment across polyglot codebases.
  • Experience prioritizing work across stakeholders and partnering with Product Management on engineering plans and estimates.
  • Strong coaching, performance management, career development, technical mentorship, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with observability practices and production incident response.
