Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Onsite in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Salary: $90,000–$180,000 annual salary in Bentonville; $117,000–$234,000 annual salary in Sunnyvale, California. Additional performance bonuses and, for certain positions, stock may apply.

What you will do

• Design and implement mathematical optimization models and machine learning solutions for automated inventory decision-making.
• Develop, test, validate, and deploy scalable models using statistical, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
• Evaluate data sources, perform exploratory analysis, and engineer features for model development and decision logic.
• Translate complex business problems into decision-driven, data-informed solutions with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Create data visualizations and communicate analytical findings to support business decisions.
• Maintain data governance, quality, reliability, and production deployment standards.

Requirements

• Experience designing optimization models and machine learning solutions for automated decision systems.
• Strong knowledge of advanced statistics, machine learning, mathematical optimization, and data science methods.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies and data quality assessment practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 3 years of analytics experience, or a master’s degree plus 1 year of experience, or 5 years of analytics-related experience.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate complex requirements into production-ready solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spark, Scala, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Torch.
• Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, information technology, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or econometrics.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
