Senior Software Engineer Backend, Database (Go/Databases)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

Salary: €93,000–€143,000 EUR per year

What you will do

• Develop automation and tooling for infrastructure running in the GCP cloud.
• Improve performance and scalability across MongoDB, CockroachDB, Kafka, and related infrastructure components.
• Design, architect, and provision infrastructure that enables new product functionality.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across hirify.global to build scalable services.
• Participate in technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience developing backend systems with Go or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience with Go, document databases, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging tools such as Kafka.
• Strong understanding of data structures, databases, and software design principles.
• Ability to take technical ownership, lead complex projects, and influence architectural direction across teams.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
