Cyber Security Intern (Cybersecurity)

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States; year-round onsite work in Oshkosh, WI is required

Salary: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support Security Operations, Incident Response, and Cyber Defense teams.
• Investigate phishing emails, malware, security alerts, and other cybersecurity events.
• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, patch, deploy, and upgrade security applications, agents, and infrastructure.
• Maintain enterprise security logging, malware lab environments, honeypots, and other defensive capabilities.
• Analyze security metrics, prepare reports and briefings, and create cybersecurity awareness communications.
• Help design, test, integrate, and document security controls, technologies, processes, and projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Ability to work year-round in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
• Reliable transportation to travel between local Oshkosh facilities and data centers.
• Interest in a career in cybersecurity, information security, or a related technology field.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when supporting applicable technology or infrastructure activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Coursework or hands-on experience in cybersecurity, information security, networking, computer science, or related areas.
• Experience from cybersecurity or IT employment, labs, clubs, competitions, or personal projects.
• Interest in incident response, security operations, malware analysis, cyber defense, security engineering, networking, or security infrastructure.
