Cyber Strategy Intern (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Conduct assessments to identify risks in cybersecurity governance and compliance programs.
• Evaluate the technical and business impact and likelihood of security issues, then provide remediation guidance.
• Work with cybersecurity and privacy frameworks including ISO, NIST, and CIS.
• Measure and report compliance with requirements such as PCI DSS, CMMC, FedRAMP, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Support the development of security governance programs, eGRC tools, metrics, reporting, and target operating models.
• Prepare presentations for executive management and boards while collaborating with risk and technology consulting professionals.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or a related field by the start of employment.
• Technical background in computer science or a related discipline, with working knowledge of business process flows.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally to audiences including senior management.
• Strong integrity, confidentiality, motivation for continuous improvement, and adherence to company policies.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• Entry-level candidates must not require immigration or work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft tools such as Excel and OneNote.
• Hands-on or lab experience with servers, firewalls, IDS, and other network infrastructure.
• Experience with security tools such as Nessus and Kali Linux.
• Operating system configuration and security experience with Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, or AIX.
• Basic understanding of secure network architecture design.
