Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

Location: Onsite at 6225 Coliseum Blvd, Alexandria, Louisiana, United States

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, plus possible hourly premiums of $0.35–$3.00.

What you will do

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial facilities.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, parts inventory, vendor relationships, service calls, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate and mentor field technicians through hands-on training and skill development.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or 6 years plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or Mechanical Journeyman qualification where required.
• Experience with diagnostics, troubleshooting, field-team leadership, documentation, and vendor coordination.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and compliant commercial driving record.
• Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and company vehicles.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentation software, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
